Message From Director

Dear Students,

Greeting From School of Professional Studies(S.P.S).

Currently, there exists a significant disparity between the industry’s demands and the academic knowledge

disseminated by management institutes in India. To bridge this gap successfully and achieve groundbreaking results, a radical transformation in the management education system is imperative. This transformation necessitates a departure from our age-old paradigm, replacing it with content and teaching methodologies that pivot towards making management education more student and industry-centric, rather than being faculty-centered. A comprehensive reevaluation of course content is essential, eliminating irrelevant subjects and incorporating industry-relevant material.

Many management institutes rely on the Case Study method to elucidate theoretical concepts. However, there is a pressing need to supplement this with simulation exercises, providing students with practical insights within a virtual organizational framework. Analogous to practical labs in engineering institutes, the introduction of virtual organizations can enable students to navigate diverse situations, applying theoretical concepts and practical knowledge gleaned from faculty with corporate experience.

Encouraging students to undertake corporate projects during their academic tenure is crucial. This exposure to the corporate environment before graduation better prepares them for the professional world. Institutes should establish regular interactions between students and industry professionals, providing a platform for students to acclimate and align themselves with industry expectations.

The composition of faculty plays a pivotal role in shaping a holistic educational experience. Faculty members should possess diversified experiences encompassing industry exposure, teaching, training, research, counseling, and consultancy. Fostering innovation and creativity should be a core focus, motivating students to explore avenues such as start-ups and government projects.

Institutes should also instill a team-oriented mindset and foster risk-taking capabilities through practical exercises, aligning with the fundamental requirements of any corporate environment. Managers developed through such an approach are poised to make substantial contributions to industry growth and national development.

It is with pride that I affirm our commitment at SPS to employ the aforementioned tools and techniques, ensuring the delivery of quality education that aligns with the current requirements of both the corporate sector and the country at large.
